Mapping Creative Industries across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire

Creative industries mapping and consultation for North East Scotland

The Fifth Sector is an independent specialist consultancy, working with the Cultural Policy and Partnerships Team at Aberdeen City Council to map and analyse detailed data on both organisations and freelance individuals operating within the creative industries in North East Scotland. The findings will inform strategic planning, identify skills needs, and highlight areas for growth and investment.

Our initial mapping has identified a creative workforce of more than 10,000 people - more than double the number of employees shown in national statistics.

Now we want your help to better understand how the sector comes together, what challenges you are facing and what opportunities you see for growth. We will be holding a series of workshops in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire on 13 and 14 November - if you would like to take part, either in-person or online, please sign up using one of the links below to receive further information and we will send you an invitation by email to confirm your place.

• Screen North East consultation workshop, Thursday 13 November, 3.30 - 5pm, SHMU (Aberdeen City) and online

• Aberdeenshire creative industries consultation workshop, Friday 14 November, 10 - 11.30am, Fly Cup (Inverurie) and online

• Aberdeen creative industries consultation workshop, Friday 14 November, 2-3.30pm, Aberdeen City [venue tbc] and online

Each of the four workshops will be similar in format and content, so please choose the one most relevant or convenient to you.
